Learning About Animals and Where Food Comes From
Students have been enjoying a number of fall activities. On Oct. 26, KCDC students visited Conner’s A-Maize-Ing Acres in Hilliard, Fla. They experienced a tractor ride and the opportunity to feed cows and play on the property. The farm is a wonderful real-life learning lab for teaching KCDC students about raising animals and growing food naturally.
Conner’s A-Maize-Ing Acres is a 5th & 6th generation working family farm. The farm is home to over 100 farm animals that range free (except for the rabbits for their own protection). Most of the crops are heirloom varieties, and they do not plant GMO seeds. Crops are grown in the ground and hydroponically.
Celebrating Fall and Halloween Fun
KCDC’s Fall Festival was held on Oct. 28. Students paraded around Keystone in their Halloween costumes and played trick-or-treat at some of the offices in the building. The parade ended in their playground where the staff and parents had lots of activities and activities for everyone’s enjoyment.
